Assistant Federal Defender Lynn Donaldson received a B.S. degree magna cum laude from the University of Utah in Political Science in 1983 and a J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law in 1986. He is a member of the Utah State Bar and has been admitted to practice in the United State District Court for Utah, United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and United States Supreme Court.
Before joining the Utah Federal Defender Office, he worked as a staff attorney for the Salt Lake Legal Defender Association for six and a half years and in private practice for thirteen years.
He is a long time member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Utah Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (President, 2005-2006) and Criminal Law Section of Utah Bar (Chair Executive Committee, 2010-2011). His practice has focused exclusively on the defense of allegations of criminal wrongdoing, juvenile delinquency and capital crimes.
